Since 1998, USA Transport has undertaken to cater to almost every manufacturer's needs, by providing solutions to their road transport requirements. As a national carrier of almost any type of cargo, such as fruit, vegetables and packages, USA Transport is also the chosen haulier for South African Breweries. And ensuring the safety of its fleet and cargo is Ctrack. "All 15 of our vehicles are fitted with Ctrack and it has been this way for over two years now," says Piet Erasmus, MD of USA Transport. "The decision to go with Ctrack was not taken lightly. We conducted a vast amount of research on other tracking companies and the services and products rendered and, as a result, decided that Ctrack was the best choice," elaborates Erasmus. "What we believe is a positive feature of Ctrack is its adaptability. If there are advances in the product, the system can easily be upgraded. Of course nothing is perfect and, due to the nature of our business (we are on the road 24/7 for the entire year) it is only natural that problems do occur. Owing to the national coverage of Ctrack we have never had a problem with back-up services – the call-out is always prompt and effective.
"This is very important because Ctrack has become an integral part of controlling, monitoring and managing the fleet, allowing us to identify the exact location of the vehicle and cargo and calculate the estimated time of arrival at a particular point. It may cost a fair amount of money, but the benefits that it brings to the company in terms of improved fuel consumption of the vehicles, reduced fines and maintenance far outweighs the initial cash layout."
