 No More Clutching

If your business is allied to the motor industry, then all aspects of road and vehicle usage are highlighted. Therefore you need to ensure that your representatives, be they human or vehicle, are responsible and focused. Ferobrake Epping is one such company.

Ferobrake Epping is a specialist company providing clutch, brake and drive shaft products and services to fleet operators, workshops, spares shops and the man in the street.

"In order to provide a high standard of service to our customer base, we need a fairly efficient delivery fleet," says managing director, Siegfried Morgenrood. "It is not enough to just meet delivery times or schedules, we need to manage our fleet to its utmost capability while ensuring that the safety of our staff is always instrumental in our successful operation."

Ctrack was introduced to Ferobrake Epping two years ago and is currently fitted to its sales and delivery fleets as well as to a number of management vehicles. Representatives and delivery vehicles that are equipped with Ctrack have shown a marked improvement in vehicle utilisation. And, although the costs of maintenance and repair have dramatically improved, Morgenrood is even more pleased with the awareness that his staff have acquired.

"I'd rather have staff who are concerned for their lives by driving responsibly within the 120 km/h limit, especially with a one-ton load, than a cowboy' who thinks nothing for the safety of those around him. We do not pay a driver to break the law and we have a solid reputation that will not be spoilt by reckless and irresponsible behaviour. We are proud of our staff and Ctrack is a terrific management tool that helps us realise our full potential."

There have also been other kickbacks that make Morgenrood smile, such as the 15 percent reduction in insurance premiums and the recovery of a stolen vehicle. Within four hours of the theft, and in conjunction with Ctrack's recommended contractor, the vehicle was tracked to a squatter camp and returned.

"Business for Ferobrake Epping has certainly improved since the Ctrack installation. Our staff are now 100 percent productive, which has brought new business into our arena," concludes Morgenrood.
