It has taken years of upgrading and amalgamating for Nowra Coaches and Pioneer/Premier Motor Service to reach its current status: a workforce of 140, 40 buses and an additional 24 coaches. Based in Australia, the group is responsible for a network of bus routes throughout the larger part of Australia's roads.

Pioneer/Premier Motor Service prides itself on one of the most modern fleets of Scania coaches on the market. Capable of carrying 57 to 60 passengers, Pioneer/Premier Motor Service's coaches offer five-star luxury and are equipped with air conditioning, toilets, seatbelts and state-of-the-art safety features. In addition to this, Pioneer/Premier Motor Service has also installed the first Internet booking system for the industry.

"Installing our fleet with Ctrack from Ctrack has provided us with complete control over our assets through the coverage of GSM, satellite, Mobitex or the CDMA network. It has realised huge improvements in many areas," says John King, Premier Motor Service director. According to King, Premier Motor Service is the only long distance operation in Australia to have real-time tracking on its coaches, "At any given moment I can be in touch with any vehicle in the fleet, I can see at a glance its exact location and track its every movement, giving me first hand information on just about anything I want to know.

"From the time the driver starts the engine I have the control to gain the maximum utilisation from my fleet," remarks King. "I can monitor braking, speeding, over-revving and can be alerted to these by means of text messaging the moment something happens- 24 hours a day!

Administrative costs are diminished thanks to Ctrack's Ctrack; the system has provided a more superior method of recording events and alleviates the mountains of paperwork and storage that came with the old tachographs. Saving on manpower has also facilitated a far superior utilisation of staff and other areas can be scanned for improvements to our operation."

In fact, King is so delighted with Ctrack that he has recommended the system to his brother Gerhard - operator of Kiama Coaches - who has also enlisted the services of DigiCore.
